LHC Experiments, Honey Bees, Cell Phone Dangers & Animal Mutilations Investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe discussed the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), honey bee disorders, cell phone dangers, and cat mutilation cases. First, she delved into what scientists hope to discover with the LHC experiments at CERN. She interviewed Particle Physicist Joseph Lykken, Ph.D., who explained it was unlikely they'd produce black holes. But if they did, these objects would almost immediately evaporate into regular particles, so there was no danger in what they were doing. They hope to learn more about gravity, the origins of the universe, as well as produce dark matter particles, Lykken said.
